Harley report, ...so far
hey hey, how you like my new banner?! Sean put it together for me. cool!! :-)
so, i got the bike yesterday. :-)
Dave has been a meticulous perfectionist with this bike! it is in like new shape, even though he rode it all the time. it's 22 years old and the paint is perfect, there's no rust, the chrome is also perfect.... he was telling me how he changed the oil and he designed and made certain tools to catch oil. and he keeps virgin towels in the house that only touch the bike so he knows that there's no sand or anything like that in the towel that might put a mark on the paint. he's also been very particular about what mechanic he'd let work on the bike. it runs great, looks great, handles great....
i didn't think i would ride it last night after Dave dropped it off because i had hurt my knee this week and i didn't want to do something dumb like put my feet down and not be able to hold the bike up.... but we put it out in front of my house and it was sitting there confused. i saw it give me a puzzled look and wonder why i was not riding it. so i gave in to the temptation, it was too much for me.... i called Wayne and asked him to bring me my helmet and go for a little ride with me. he did, and we did. just a nice little ride on some back country roads..... Wayne likes the bike a lot. he thinks i got a very good deal. and we both have almost the same Harley decal on our tanks! cool.
then i got up early this morning to get to an all day rock show in Hanover, Pa. one of my fav bands, Aneirin, was playing early in the day because they also had a gig in Delaware tonight. so i got on the bike and headed north. i got a little bit lost once or twice finding the place but i got there in plenty of time to see Aneirin, and anyway, i was having fun on my new ride.... i left the house about 8:30am and just got back in at 1:30pm with a couple of hours hanging out with the bands. the weather is beautiful, warm, and clear.
so, i'm taking a break, getting a sandwich, doin a lil bloggin, but i'll go back out a little later.
