the HM Stage was the most popular of the three stages. throughout the day this stage was pretty packed out. the Gallery Stage was not well attended, and Main Stage had lots of open space too.... except for during the Disciple show..... here are some more pictures of the day......
i'm putting up some general pictures up here today and i'll put some more up tomorrow.
today we look at the grounds, etc.
tomorrow we'll look at the rock and roll concerts, and the people who rock them.....
we went driving after church on Sunday and ended up in Wisconsin at Simmon's Island Park. it was lovely, right by Lake Michigan.
i had my camera with me
and i wanted to take some pictures of the fishermen.
there were a bunch of people there at a slow running stream that was emptying into the lake and they were fishing for the salmon in the stream. some pretty good sized salmon as we found out when they started jumping out of the water. most were about 14 to 20 inches, i'd say....
and they were flying out of the stream in jumping arcs, flapping tails, and slapping splashing dives.... it was really cool.....
i tried to catch the moment on my camera. i failed.
i think a lot of digital cameras do this thing where when you push the shutter button it waits a second to snap the picture. as i push the button on my fuji the action stops in my lens, but that is not the picture i end up with. many times i snapped and saw a great picture in my lens of beautiful leaping salmon, but the camera didn't take that picture,
it shot a second later....... sigh.....
i'm sure there is a setting on here that will let the camera take an instant picture as i push the shutter button, but i didn't think about messing with it that day.... i should have. i could have had some really good pictures to show you...... so instead, here are pix of the ones that got away.....
