If you were suddenly granted the day off today, how would you go spend your free time?
honestly, i'd do today what i have to do tomorrow. and then have tomorrow free.... i have to go grocery shopping, do my laundry, and catching up on my tv shows... but alas i don't have the day off so i'll just have to get it done tomorrow............. sigh....
When driving alone, what do you do? Sing along to the radio? Think about your day? Something else?

lots of times i find myself praying and thinking on the way into work. once i turn on the radio or ipod then i'm into the music, but, of course, my mind is still going with thoughts of linda, my kids, the grandkids, the house, moving, selling my junk, the day ahead, yesterday, work, home, bands, songs, concerts, riding, guitars, drums, scriptures, church, church music, my friends, my tv shows, the stars, creation in general, deer on the road, rocks hitting my windshield, etc., etc... is that a little too detailed? ha! :-)
i listened to the whole "Motorcycle" cd, Daniel Amos, this morning. great album!!
on the way home i either put my ipod back on, or sometimes the Don and Mike show.
other than going and coming from work, i flip radio stations... yeah, i sing if i know the words, and sometimes even if i don't.... :-)
If you could eat only 3 foods for the rest of your life, what would they be?
Submitted by formance.
i'll go with "categories" of foods:
1. sushi: you can have lots of different flavors in this category, fish, vegetables, fruit, rice, crab.... so many....
2. pizza: meat, vegetables, cheeses, bread.... what a great food!
3. cereal with milk: i often have this for dinner actually. and there are so many different cereals!
that's my answer (for now)
What time is your alarm clock set for? Do you use the snooze button?
my alarm is set for 3am. so to get eight hours i have to be asleep by 7pm....
and i have never hit the snooze, that is until about two weeks ago. i hit it twice in one week, but that doesn't work that well for me. so i haven't been hitting it anymore...
right now it's 3:45am but i didn't just get up. i just got home from hanging out with Sean and Laura and Eli, the birthday boy, and Eva! i did get up at 3am Monday morning, and now it's almost 4am Tuesday morning and i'm just getting to bed..... i'm no glad to be on vacation now! :-)
nighty night.....
i think i'll turn yesterday's QotD on it's ear and talk about some bands i'm glad that i have seen that can't be seen anymore.
i'm glad i saw Lynyrd Skynard on their first tour opening for the Who. i remember a lot about that show, where i was sitting, how the guys in Skynard were drunk and still drinking from the bottle on stage, and how they were absolutely great anyway. i've seen the original Who many times, that was one of my favorite live bands. i saw Pink Floyd a couple of times, also great. i didn't see the Beatles, but i did see Paul and i saw George. (oh, there's one i really wish i'd seen but didn't - John Lennon!) i've seen the Parlament-Funkadelic, one of my favs as well. i saw Sly and the Family Stone and he actually showed up and had a great show! i saw Joni Mitchell for a few songs, until she stopped and walked off stage because the Cole Field House stunk like gym socks (so the Washington Post reported the next day). i also went to a few Rod Stewart shows back when Ron Wood was with him; that was a great band. looking back, i'm glad i saw Cat Stevens, B-52s, Black Sabbath with Ozzy, David Bowie through every phase, Yes, EL&P, both Winters brothers, Iggy the Stooges, the Stones, Fleetwood Mac, the Allman Bros., and lots more of my 70s and 80s favs....
some other now dead rockers i've seen are: Little Feat with Lowell George, Robert Palmer, Rory Gallager, Grateful Dead with Jerry Garcia, Gram Parsons, Pete Hamm- Badfinger, Tommy Bolin, Frank Zappa, Randy Rhoads, Karen Carpenter, Roy Buchanan, Miles Davis, Root Boy Slim, Vince Ebo.... (i'm sure there's others, but that's all i got right now)....
Which band or artist which is no longer performing or alive would you have loved to have seen?

oh, i suppose a bunch of rocks greats from the 60s and 70s. the Beatles, Hendrix, Janis Joplin. i wish i'd seen the Velvet Underground, Genisis with Peter Gabriel (i have seen Peter after Genisis), Marc Bolan... i was in Puerto Rico from like 67 to 72, and so i didn't have much opportunity to see big artists during those years.... but since 72, when i moved to MD., i've seen just about everyone i could have seen...
then my musical focus changed around about 85. i bought my first Daniel Amos record, and got into Rez, Steve Taylor, Bloodgood, soooooo many little known non-mainstream [Christian] bands..... and i've seen all of them too......
... except i missed Keith Green, and Mark Heard's last show.... and i should have seen Mark. i should have seen his last show because i was at Cornerstone that year, my friend went, i don't even remember why i missed it, but i did. :-(
now i do still go to shows but not like i used to. it's too hard to go out during the week and then go to work...
poor old me. and i do mean old.... :-p

i've mentioned this place before on here, but i go to the Simply Asia every Friday for sushi. i've been doing that for months now. i think just about everything there is great, but someone at church this last week end said that they went there and it sucked! then someone else chimed in and said, yeah, they heard it sucked too. but this last person won't even eat chinese food so she doesn't know anything about it. the first hater does eat chinese but i don't know how anyone could say the food there sux. ..... but to each his own i suppose..... ?
